Derek Sharp

Writer/Director

Derek Sharp is an emerging writer and director from Oshawa, Canada. He is interested in genre work and magical realism. In 2019 he graduated Cum Laude from Mount Allison University with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Anthropology, then swiftly pivoted into Humber College’s Film and Media Production Program. He, Who Loves Me (2022) is his second short directorial effort, and his first time directing his own writing. Derek also directed Private Eye & Apple Pie (2021), as well as working as producer on the short documentary Redundancies (2020). Currently Derek is bolstering his portfolio by writing a feature and developing two web series. 

Kaitlyn Mckale

Producer

Kaitlyn McKale is an emerging producer from Ottawa, Ontario where she now resides in Toronto, Ontario. She got her start into filmmaking at Algonquin College where she made her first film. Upon entering film school at Humber College, she naturally gravitated towards producing. Through her producing work she aims to help tell stories that are insightful and engaging. She will collaborate with anyone who has a special story to tell.

Her most recent work consists of Cultivation of a Kill (2022) as production manager, I Wanna Be Famous (2022) as costume designer/ art assistant, and Private Eye & Apple Pie (2021) as producer.

Tarek Jad

Director of Photography

Tarek Jad is an aspiring Toronto-based filmmaker pursuing a career in the Film and Television industry. His most notable works to his filmography are the short documentary “Bridge 10-46” and his directorial debut in the student short, “Could You Leave”. Tarek enjoys watching movies, writing, and enjoys listening to educational podcasts. With a focus on directing, cinematography, and camera operating, Tarek is passionate about exploring all-new creative stories and opportunities.

David Nguyen

Picture Editor

David Nguyen is a Toronto-based filmmaker and creator with a background in the earth and environmental sciences. Currently studying at Humber College, his projects include picture editing the Humber College dramas "Chorus" and "He, Who Loves Me," as well as production roles in camera and sound departments. His latest project is taking the reins as director on a series of interstitials for the graduation screening for Humber's 2022 Film and TV Production graduating class.

Robin Welsford

Production Designer

Robin Welsford is a Toronto-based filmmaker, who is an aspiring Production Designer. Robin has worked on various Humber College films as the Production Designer. Her most notable work being Chorus, Anodyne, and Meters Running. After graduating Humber College Robin hopes to become a DGC member in the art department.

Nick Ballarini

Actra apprentice Nick Ballarini has worked on a variety of films, commercials and TV shows. Nick is reperesented my the Glickman / Alexander talent management team. Nick Is grateful to have an opportunity to work on He, Who Loves Me.

Rick Mason

Rick is a Toronto-based actor with numerous roles in short films, television shows, and national commercials. He was drawn to the role of Arther as it provided an opportunity to play a character whose life is one giant struggle, someone who is in conflict with the people and circumstances that surround him. Rick is represented by Ilona DiCaro of Bean & Co. Talent.
